The Room I Am In

Explore the room you’re in as if you’re seeing it for the first time. Pretend you know nothing. What do you see? Who is the person who lives there? – Daily Prompt

As I look around the room I am sitting in it seems obvious that its a room where a child sometimes plays. A huge playhouse sits by the door. There are a few toys which look to have recently been played with in the room. A furby, some Jake and the Pirate toys. The furby would lead me to believe it might be a girl, but not sure since the other things I see could be either.

The room seems to belong to a very close and loving family. There are lots of family pictures on the walls. Above one set of pictures is a sign which reads the Best Place to be Is Together. Most of the pictures are of the family together but some are what appear to be of other family members as well.

They seem to like to spend time together. Beneath one of the tables in the room are stored board games to play together. Even some puzzles they can spend time doing together. Two puzzles rest atop the table so they apparently have been doing puzzles recently. On the couch is a stack of 6 or 7 childrens books. Another couple of books can also be seen in the room. The child must enjoy story time.

I see some dog toys laying around. Some of them look fairly well used. I get the impression the dogs get their fair share of attention as well.

The room seems to be decorated very nicely. Decorative flowers, cross stitch hanging on the wall, candles and other warm, welcoming items adorn the room.

I get the impression the family who spends time here is a very loving, close knit family. They care about quality family time together.
